Dieser ungarische Wein ist das Gegenstück zum deutschen „Grauburgunder“. Die Legende besagt, dass die Rebsorte vor sehr langer Zeit im 14ten Jahrhundert von Karl IV aus Frankreich nach Ungarn gebracht wurde. Deshalb und wegen der großen Beliebtheit des Weins im Land, wird häufig angenommen, dass es sich um eine heimische ungarische Rebsorte handelt. Dieser Weißwein hat einen erfrischenden Geschmack nach Pfirsich und Zitronengras, der mit den mineralischen Noten der Vulkanerde im Anbaugebiet wunderbar harmoniert.
Das kleine Weingut ValiBor befindet sich in den Bergen von Badacsonyörs, einer Region am westlichen Plattensee. Der Besitzer, Péter Vali, wuchs in der Welt der Gastronomie auf und träumte schon als kleines Kind davon, eines Tages seine eigenen Weine herzustellen. Sein Traum erfüllte sich im Jahr 2010, als er mit der Hilfe und Unterstützung seiner Familie sein Weingut gründete. Heute produziert ValiBor bereits mehr als 10 unterschiedliche Sorten Wein.

This Hungarian wine is the counterpart of the German “Grauburgunder”. The legend says that the Szürkebarát was brought long time ago in the 14th century from France to Hungary by the emperor Karl IV. Therefore and because of the high popularity within the country, it is often considered as a native Hungarian grape. This white wine has a refreshing taste of peach and lemongrass that harmonizes with the minerally aromas of the volcanic soil it is cultivated in.
The small winery ValiBor is located in the hills of Badacsonyörs, a region on the west side of lake Balaton. The owner, Péter Vali, grew up in the world of gastronomy and dreamed of producing his own wines since he was a small child. Eventually, his dream came true in 2010 when he started his wine business with the help and support of his family. Today they produce already more than 10 different wine varieties.
